That means that if I challenge a player 720 points lower than me, I won't get any points even if I win??? heck, I'm here for the fun, besides I need some practice so that i don't get 'Very Rusty'

I would but the chart only works for us novices 🙂

Actually, I did not calculate it, Another player did, he had a link to a webpage that had the list. It was a few months ago and unfortunately I cannot recall the player nor find the original thread. I did however save the information on a microsoft word document and just now got around to posting it.

Please Note : Rating Chart only applies to players rated less than 2100

Your provisional so for your rating to increase you probably have to beat players rated 1450(?) or greater. Your rating can actually decrease even if you win against lower rated players.

It also shows something I have long suspected, that it is harder to gain points then to lose them.

Yup, that's right. Would it make sense that you could slowly go from, say, 1800 to 2100 by winning one point per game against 1000-rated players?

Lots of people do things like that. It gives their rating graph a very distinctive look to it too, because their rating goes up at a constant slope (a few points at a time from lower-rated players) and then drops sharply whenever they lose a game.
