ECO
ECO stands for the Encyclopaedia of Chess Openings, a comprehensive classification system for chess openings using alphanumeric codes (A00–E99). Published in five volumes (A–E), each volume covers a range of opening systems. The ECO code system is the standard international method for categorising chess openings.
