FIDE
FIDE (Fédération Internationale des Échecs) is the international governing body of chess, founded in Paris on 20 July 1924. FIDE organises the World Chess Championship, the Chess Olympiad, and administers the international rating and title systems. It is recognised by the International Olympic Committee as the global governing body for chess.
