What is Fischer Delay?

Fischer delay (or Fischer increment) is a time control method invented by Bobby Fischer, in which a fixed amount of time (e.g. 10 seconds) is added to a player's clock after each move. Unlike the Bronstein delay, unused increment time accumulates, so a player who moves quickly can build up a reserve. The Fischer delay is the most common increment system in modern chess.
