You have nominated a strange mixture.
FMF thinks he knows everything, having 'travelled the world, man' and merely tries to change the subject of debate whenever he is cornered.

ATY has an enormous racial chip on his shoulder and is consequently a write off.

No1 is a self-proclaimed lawyer of dubious standing.

Twitehead is a twithead.

The best of the bunch are sh76 and generalissimo.
..this whole thread is totally bogus and unrepresentative. i mean no-one has bothered to mention moi.....

I have somewhat of the same opinion as you.
I'll bet two shoe-ins are
1. sh76
2. no1
they almost have to be taken as a pair.

I'll be Scalia and No1 can be Ginsburg.

I nominate Melanerpes for Kennedy.

PS: As for FMF's candidacy, I guess most people haven't noticed, but he hasn't posted in 2 weeks and is on self-imposed indefinite hiatus.

Love him or hate him (and I gather there are quite a few of the latter), it's a crippling loss for the forum. I, for one, earnestly hope that he comes back (when he's ready).

Good luck getting no1 to swear to uphold the Constitution. All he needs are his trusty and worn volumes of Locke, and some cave paintings of course. He can wing it from there.

Oh, and you're Alito... or Roberts, I guess.

The Framers didn't think that Locke and Natural Law theory were incompatible with the Constitution; quite the contrary. It's odd you have a different opinion.

Whoa. Some people have no reason to live. You are one of those people.

It's really the cave paintings that bother me 🙂

Wajoma = Robert Bork

whodey = Clarence Thomas; which means he can just follow whatever my Scalia does 😉

I want to be Alito so I can say things under my breath at all the State of the Union Addresses and get lots of attention.

I might well have nominated you, but I feel less familiar with your debating style than with the others I chose. However, maybe if FMF has withdrawn from contention, then you could have his slot?

You have nominated a strange mixture.

That may be true, but no one else has tried to nominate a slate of nine names at all! I wasn't aiming for ideological balance but acting as a President usually does, choosing names that were not too distant from me in terms of ideology (though I did try to represent a variety of different approaches and perspectives). Since I'm basically on the centre-left, I chose a set a names that spanned the left to moderate right.

ATY has an enormous racial chip on his shoulder and is consequently a write off.

That thought did give me pause, but I thought he could be the one who talks about wise Latinas and things like that.

you are entitled to your opinion of course.
my opinion is that you are certainly not going to make the shortlist. and out of the persons you mentioned i agree with the caracterization of only one. maybe partly with another. guess who i am talking about.
