In this article, the Vice President says Republicans lost almost entirely because of the war with Iran:

Assuming he's correct, maybe someone at Fox News could ask him "since the American People have overwhelmingly voted against the war, when will the administration he serves in end it?"
Should be good for a laugh at least.
Seriously though, should a nation continue a war that the People oppose in a democratic republic?
@no1marauder saidhe is starting to distance himself from trump and get something to run on in 2028.

Let's not ever underestimate the willingness of those sheeple to forgive and forget whatever abhorrant crap this administration has done.
For the brain of an amoebe, two years is essentially a lifetime.
Speaking of amoebes, AvJoe is still MIA.

@no1marauder saidThey can't just end the war. It's too late. The idiotic decision to cancel JPCOA and then the even more idiotic decision to conduct unprovoked attacks that killed their leadership caused this.

A big barrier to fixing the problem is that they've removed the competent people who were capable of negotiating with Iran, and competent military generals, and replaced them with real estate hucksters who have no clue what a religious fundamentalist government even is.
Impeachment might be the only way to end the war within a 2 year time frame.
@wildgrass saidI think you're wrong; I expect them to go hat in hand to the Iranians in the next few weeks.

@no1marauder saidWeeks? JPCOA took many years to negotiate and dozens of career diplomats. We're not dealing with serious people in the Trump administration. They want to tweet and go on FoxNews and spout strong-sounding soundbites, not do hard work and compromise. Maybe that timeline could be accelerated if leadership is replaced but I don't think success is possible with the neophytes involved in brokering peace.

@wildgrass saidInternational inspections of Iran's nuclear sites and they probably get to impose some kind of fees on passage of the Strait of Hormuz + sanctions relief.

Don't be shocked if there's such an agreement is in place before the New Year.

indeed it was, jd
but the biggest factor was folks watching the corruption flow like sewage
and most folks are not fans of flowing sewage
@no1marauder saidEhhh, I dunno. Surprised? Maybe not. But they aren't using adult brains. It's not really the presence of the war that was the problem in the first place, it all boiled down to how terribly the war was handled. Hegseth and Trump thought they were in a backyard sandbox playing GI Joe.

The Republicans are trying to talk themselves into a convenient narrative here about why they lost this election, and the simple fixes (which are logical ideas) that you are providing here don't solve their political problems. So why would they put in the effort? If they do this, then they lose the war and they lose the narrative that this is their only problem.
Endless talk about men's butts, monuments, marble and arches, pushing worthless candidates into race after race of solid easy districts, cruel and expensive immigration policies, tariffs, poor treatment of allies, corruption, data centers, crypto, Republicans don't lead on any of these other issues.
@wildgrass saidIt gets rid of a huge political negative + brings down gas prices ( oil dropped worldwide because of the midterms' results ).
