If someone had told me 20 years ago that cutting out alcohol, sugar, potato, bread, rice, pasta, breakfast cereals and fruit … and consuming instead, fatty red meat, oily fish, a little bacon, butter, cheese, avocados, eggs, sea salt and lots of green veg would make me feel much healthier, lose weight, have less food cravings, lower appetite and experience improved mental wellbeing, I would not have believed them.

I do now.

Very happy for you, my friend. Yes sugar, in all its clever disguises, is the enemy.

You rarely see an overweight old person :-)

Fruit?

It's good that you're only cutting out potato and not potatoes. A life without potatoes... Impossible.

Great that you’ve discovered what works best for you.

The older we get the more we need to get serious about our diet & lifestyle to maintain our physical & mental wellbeing. When I ever had a pain I used to think ‘Do I need to see a doctor?’ These days I first think ‘What have I eaten, done or not done to cause this?’

We have far more control over our health than we realise.

Not all fruit but most; the complex sugar content is horrendous; it gets broken down into glucose and still messes with you. Surprisingly for me bananas are one of the worst culprits. Sugar is as bad as drugs, in fact I am now regarding it as literally that.
