Q. How does trillions of gallons of water, i.e. the sea, manage to sit in a relatively tiny thin liquid veneer on the earth’s surface and not sink into the crust?
A1. The water at the bottom of the ocean is so pressurised (remember Titan 💀) that it is compressed denser than the rock below it and so it cannot penetrate.
A2. It does; but God put a plastic membrane between the crust and the mantle to prevent seepage.
A3. Water is highly conductive and the earths magnetic field holds the water in place uniformly over its surface.
A4. The earth’s crust is dense enough to be completely impenetrable … except, weirdly, for magma coming the other way which IS denser than water.
A5. The spin of the earth is 1,675mph at the surface and the centrifugal force created keeps the relatively less dense water above the rock below it.

@diver saidThe obvious and only answer answer “must” be A2.🤔😲

@Great-Big-Stees saidWater is an incompressible fluid, so cannot be A1. I'm going with Godidit; only way to make sense of Noah's Flood, too: God cut a gash in the membrane on the ocean floor to let the water below the oceans gush upwards and flood the whole Earth.

@moonbus saidI knew it.👍😉

@rookie54 saidYeah, but climate change is real. And we're really causing it. The lizard people need a hotter temp than we're used to, so they tricked people into heating up the planet to their preferred temp by convincing people that reducing fossil fuel dependence will cause unemployment and dickshrink in cis-males. Then they'll eat us.
@diver
the earth is flat
water does not exist
yer story of bbq tongs was interesting
but today yer on my list
@diver saidA5 doesn't work. If the Earth were spinning, we'd all be thrown off into space, like marbles on a phonograph record.

Q: Why it doesn't the sea flow over the edge and off into space?
A: The ridge of mountains at the rim stops the water from flowing away, but what keeps the AIR from flowing away into space, over the tops of the mountains at the rim??
I'm going with Godidit again. It's just a miracle, like the miracle of existence itself, there is no other plausible explanation.
@moonbus saidHA! Slipped one past the auto-mod!

I wouldn't go with any of the answers offered. Very basically, air is less dense than water, water less dense than rock, and rock less dense than metal. This is why Earth is structurally differentiated such that there's a metal core, a rocky mantle and crust surrounding the core, with water on top of the crust and air above everything else. Water can seep into the interstices in soil and rock, but the space available it limited.
@rookie54 saidYes what about Flo and Eddie?
@Soothfast
but it's turtles all the way down!
what about the turtles?
WHAT ABOUT THE TURTLES?
@moonbus saidSo you sit around thinking about straight guys junk?
