British artist born in Bradford, Yorkshire, to a working-class family, he rose to prominence in the 1960s as part of the Pop Art movement.

Best known for his sun-drenched California swimming pool paintings, including "A Bigger Splash".

British artist David Hockney has died, 88 years old.

Sorry Bish, I didn't notice your post before mine. I had a poster of one of his famous paintings. I bought it in New York many years ago without knowing anything about Hockney, I just liked the poster.
