This is so sad, and it makes me so angry, the ongoing abuse of women, and certainly girls, in the world. I'm not surprised one bit, given my own story of abuse for two years, but the sheer indifference to it still shocks me at times. I never in a million years even entertained the thought this was once, and apparently even now, a real thing.

Thank you for sharing this link - it's devastating reading but nevertheless important, imperative. I have read articles and watched documentaries that are shocking and yet there is a huge grey zone of awful, ignorant people, men mainly. It breaks my heart that young children - girls and boys - are treated this way.

Humans, certainly can be a very complicated species. One would think that when we “broke away” from our ancestors, that we would eventually have expunged the creepy/nutty ones but alas…not to be.😢

Helen Keller was blind and deaf from birth, let me attach a link about her:

And another from the film about her life with Anne Bancroft as her teacher. This is when she realizes connections with things around her, things that have a name and can be spelled - and her life begins.


Another edit: Helen Keller had been living in total darkness with no communication at all. She had no understanding of anything except basic feelings.

I knew of her before and had seen the film. I should have added “amazing” to my previous response. Actually there are, likely, many more adjectives to describe her.👍
