Be still my thumping heart.
I answered a lonely hearts advert in the newspaper from a woman named Vlada. The only thing she seemed interested in was my blood type.

Oh, and she insisted that we meet after dark ...

in a cemetery.

I'm sure being paralyzed from the neck down is much worse flute boy!
Ohh a game of Some Things Are Worse Than Others. I take your 'paralyzed from the neck down' and raise you 'locked-in syndrome'.

I like women who know what they want and aren't afraid to ask for it.

I think you misspelled "demand"

After 25 years of marriage, I have discovered that the statement "your shirt's on the floor" is not a description of its location, similar to "the car's parked outside", despite the superficial similarity of grammar; it is in fact an executive order to do something about it, or you're dead meat!

I have only one thought...... Venus and Mars was spot on.

They used to have marching band competitions on the playing fields next to my house as a kid. Millions of kids marching up and down the football pitches for hours and hours all playing out of time and tune. They say the marching band life is the hardest life of all.
Yeah, well, we were good.

I liked marching in the half time show at football games best.

About twice a year we went to competitions.

I learned to play the tuba in my last year of primary school. I continued through high school. I played the tuba in “the band” and orchestra. I played the Sousaphone in the marching band. We used to compete in the US (New Hampshire, Vermont and New York). There were a few competitions that took place into the late fall and they could be very “chilly”. 🥶👍😁
I've played a lot of instruments, but the only brass instrument I've played was trombone over one summer.

Well, prepare yourself.

I know trombone, barely (the only brass I know). I know a LOT of woodwinds, saxophone mainly, with the very similar clarinet, and flute. No strings and no percussion (zero talent for those). But my favorite and what I'm best at, is piano. My BA is in Performance Piano. I know a ton of music theory, I could probably get a job teaching music at high school level. One of my favorite things is to hang out at a mall nearby (I know, not many of those left) and go to a piano store and play their demo model out front. People seem to like it. My favorite tune to show off on is Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. I self-taught most of Beethoven's classics by listening and copying Alfred Brendel's style. I also like performing jazz piano, I've been to a couple of local open mic nights. I love Oscar Peterson. Art Tatum was awesome as well. Been playing since my mom made me start lessons at 8 years old. I bought a baby grand in 2015. I love that thing.

Ive had a couple of cheap pub pianos over the years. but i didnt get far with them. i remember trying to learn Codex by radiohead, a pretty simple tune. i was fine with the chordy parts but as soon as there was a hint of a melody it all fell apart.
